Permaculture is a practical way of re-designing how we do everything to be sustainable and make more sense, by following how things work in nature. The principles of Permaculture are the same as those that you can see happening in natural systems, but applied to how we as people work, build and otherwise live. One of the big questions behind the idea of Permaculture is how can people live in a way that will provide plenty, with the minimum amount of work and energy, but, without causing ecological destruction, exploitation and unhappiness.
Permaculture is not just about working out what the problems are with how we are doing things, it’s about working out what the solutions are and putting them into practice. It is a philosophy that through positive personal attitude, responsibility and collective co-operation we can create cultures of permenance for ours and future generations to enjoy, and it all starts with your imagination of what is possible.
